Since I was unable to make it up to Tallahaassee for the event, I asked my daughter and her roommate to attend and put together a recap. Check out what a pair of 21 years thought of it....
The 4th Annual Florida Tap Invitational was definitely one for the record books. With over 100 beers from breweries all over the state, everyone was bound to try new tastes and find new favorites. This year those tastes weren’t limited to beer—Madison Social partnered up with Proof to make this event a two-day festival.
Madison Social started us off with a beer and food pairing catered by local restaurants on Friday night that featured tastes from their new Italian restaurant Centrale, 4Rivers, Taco Republik and Madison Social. Festival goers got to drink and mingle while a live band performed.
Saturday was when the real fun began. Our tickets got us unlimited sampling of 100+ beers from breweries all across Florida. This portion of the event was held outside of Proof Brewing Company in Railroad Square. While listening to live music, people were able to sample as many beers as they wanted from breweries including Funky Buddha, Proof, M.I.A. Beer Company, Due South Brewing, Cigar City and many, many more. Even though the event was well attended, you were still able to easily get to the multitude of beers with no issues.
With beers like Cigar City’s Hunahpu, Aardwolf’s Early Bird Special, Bold City’s Pumpkin Ale and Funky Buddha’s Red Velvet Cake, it was hard to find a beer we didn’t like!
Don’t forget, #DrinkLocal
