The 7th annual 305 DAY Block Party in The Leah Arts District features local music, art, local vendors, food trucks, a kid’s corner and more — all in celebration of our diverse community and the 305 we love!
In sunny South Florida, 305 is more than just an area code. It’s a symbol of home, roots, and tradition. Thanks to 305 Cafecito®, 3:05 p.m. is also the city’s official coffee break time — and a bonafide cultural phenomenon! Now, 305 Cafecito is celebrating its seventh-year anniversary with another blowout 305 DAY® Block Party in Hialeah at the burgeoning Leah Arts District.
Presented by Café La Llave, 305 DAY invites our community to take pride in the 305 and celebrate our unique shared culture at our family-and-pet friendly community block party hosted by celebrity radio personality Lucy Lopez on Saturday, March 7th, 2020 from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Attendees can look forward to live music by local all-stars DJ Laz, Otto Von Schirach, Latin Grammy Award winners Locos Por Juana, Jason, Joshua and the Beholders, Apache Dragon, Hip Hop Kidz, Miami Brass Band Collective, and DJ Zog. The thoughtfully curated lineup features an array of genres reflecting our diversity from hip-hop and Afro-Latin beats to soul, funk and classic rock to Miami’s most infamous genre: booty-shaking bass.
All that dancing will have you hungry! Guests can expect delicious food by Conos with their delectable stuffed plantain cones. Laz’s Cuban Kitchen will also have free pan con lechón sliders and plant-based fritas from 3-6 p.m., courtesy of Jim Beam. Miami-lovers will ogle at live painting by local artists and shop over 25 local vendors including Martha of Miami and a special “Only in Dade” performance by 2NYCE and Solo D. There will also be kids’ activities including a reading corner, plenty of picnic tables, board games and of course, our shared love for the 305.
Since 3:05 Cafecito’s launch in 2013, the concept of celebrating March 5th (3/05) has become synonymous with South Florida and our shared community pride. March 5th has become a viral social media trend and celebrating 305 DAY as an unofficial annual holiday. This year’s belated weekend celebration will be the biggest party yet! While 305 Cafecito launched 305 DAY back in 2014 with a small-scale “ventanita“ event at Versailles, this is the third year of its large-scale block party held in honor of the concept aimed at celebrating 305 pride and the unique quirks that make the Magic City what it is today.
Attendees can RSVP for FREE tickets to the 7th Annual 305 DAY Block Party presented by Café La Llave at 305day.eventbrite.com
Give back to the 305 by way of our first annual 305 DAY Volunteer Pledge Drive at volunteermiami.org
To continue to propel change, Inspire305, powered by United Way, will also launch their first 305 DAY Volunteer Pledge Drive. For 24 hours on Thursday, March 5th, 2020, Miami will come together to pledge their time and give back to their community by signing up for various volunteer projects at volunteermiami.org.
WHAT: A Celebration of All Things 305! with an Annual Pledge Drive on March 5th. The block party will offer free cafecito by Café La Llave, and have over 25 local vendors including Martha of Miami, Parks and Wreck Co, 305 Original, 3:05 brand hoodies by Willie, and more!
