DFPF Day 2017On Saturday, March 17th, J. Wakefield Brewing will be holding its most-anticipated release of the year, DFPF Florida Weisse Sour Ale (ABV: 7%). DFPF is an acronym for Dragon Fruit Passion Fruit, the two key flavor elements in the beer. This is the 4th annual batch of the popular beer.

DFPF is currently rated the #1 Berliner Weisse in the world by Ratebeer.com and is designated “World Class” by Beer Advocate. An estimated five hundred people lined up the night before last year’s release, dubbed DFPF Day.

The date of the annual release of DFPF is dependent on the peak of season for each of the two fruits used in its brewing. Over 1,000 pounds of fruit are used in the brewing process.

Sales of 750ml bottles will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the bay door of J. Wakefield Brewing which is located at 120 NW 24th Street in Wynwood.

Price per bottle is $20. Cash only. There will be an ATM onsite.

Food powered by The Hummingbird Table from 2:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.

The following beers will also be released on DFPF Day:

Big Poppa Batch 3 (12%): Big, creamy, luscious imperial stout, infused with coconut, vanilla, and Mostra Coffee (San Diego, CA). Brewed in collaboration with Moksa Brewing Company (Rocklin, CA) and Inu Island Ales (Kaneohe, HI). 750ml bottles. Price: $25.

Harbinger Batch 3 (12%): JWB’s winter seasonal release. Imperial sweet stout, dark, rich and full-bodied suggesting hazelnut coffee, 750ml bottles. Price: $20.

Mount Stoutmore (12%): Imperial stout brewed in collaboration with Horus Aged Ales (Oceanside, CA), Angry Chair Brewing (Tampa, FL), and Bottle Logic Brewing (Anaheim, CA) infused with Hacienda La Esmeralda Coffee and Reunion Island Bourbon Vanilla Beans. Hacienda La Esmeralda Coffee is considered by many to be the world’s best coffee. A lot sold at auction for a record-breaking $601 per pound, last year.750ml bottles. Price: $35.
