New Inventive Beverage Program Led by Local Veteran Bartender Chris Resnick

A reimagined gin house showcasing clear spirits - Minnow Bar – is now open in South Beach’s North of Fifth neighborhood. The approachable, multi-faceted space houses an intimate lounge, full service modern bar and breezy open terrace serving fresh, botanical-inspired cocktails led by local veteran bartender, Chris Resnick. The all-new concept complements the adjacent Kimpton Angler’s Hotel South Beach, which has recently begun an extensive addition to be completed in fall of 2018.

“We’re eager to introduce the neighborhood to this unique concept and want locals to feel especially welcome at Washington Avenue’s newest watering hole,” said James Camp, General Manager at Minnow Bar. “Our lounge will be the ideal spot for unwinding after a long work day or sipping craft cocktails into the evening.”

The inventive beverage program will be led by Chris Resnick, a veteran bartender with experience at several of Miami Beach’s well-known establishments including Lure Fishbar and Regent Cocktail Club. Minnow Bar will house a curated list of clear spirits such as piscos, cachaças and overproof white rums, hand-selected by Resnick. A versatile, well-rounded gin menu featuring widely-recognized brands alongside notable smaller companies such as Dorothy Parker out of New York and Bobby’s Gin from Holland will also be featured on the back bar. Spirits will be elevated with refreshing and light botanical ingredients such as fresh fruits, teas and herbs. Minnow Bar will also offer a sour-centric craft beer selection along with a pinkies-down wine program including tried and tasted favorites like bouncy reds and zippy whites.

“Our cocktails will be innovative, yet approachable for those with varying spirit preferences,” shared Chris Resnick, Lead Bartender at Minnow Bar. “The ingredients in each drink will be recognizable but unique in how they come together to create a refreshing taste.” Cocktail highlights set to delight guests will include the Rey Mambo with an exotic blend of el Jimador® Tequila, black pepper, mango shrub, fresh lime and basil; I Sez Baby with a distinct mix of Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Lustau sherry, cinnamon and basil; and Hey Roxy with Bombay Sapphire Gin, strawberry, cucumber, mint and fresh lemon.

Upon entering the 990 square foot bar and lounge, guests will be greeted by a warm atmosphere and will discover an unpretentious, welcoming space showcasing dark and heavy undertones framed by exposed wood ceiling beams and complemented by rustic safari chic decorative pieces like floor-length rope curtains, iron cantilever tables and rich, chestnut-colored leather lounge chairs. Mixed bronze and wood chevron flooring will direct guests to the central focus of the space - a rectangular copper bar top complemented by a copper fish scale bronze wall and occasional copper floor tiles throughout the main floor. These design elements are perfectly contrasted by the patterned black and white cementine tiles, all illuminated by suspended vintage-industrial lighting fixtures. Once exiting the indoor space, guests will find an 840 square foot secluded oasis, alfresco patio offering contemporary resin wicker seating areas surrounded by foliage and seasonal tropical flowers. The space is perfect for soaking up warmth during the daytime or enjoying the crisp nighttime breeze in the evening.

Minnow Bar is set to open prior to Seawell Fish n’ Oyster, an all-new incoming coastal sea fare concept adjacent to Kimpton Angler’s Hotel. Following the opening of Seawell later this year, Minnow Bar will offer a mix of unique, savory lite bites showcasing an assortment of dishes developed by executive chef Julian Garriga to perfectly accompany the cocktails.

Minnow Bar will be located adjacent to Kimpton Angler’s Hotel South Beach at 660 Washington Avenue in Miami Beach.
