Johnathan Wakefield, founder/owner of J. Wakefield Brewing (JWB), Wynwood’s only independently-owned craft brewery is traveling across the Atlantic Ocean to spend two weeks collaborating with five breweries across the continent. Wakefield will be brewing in Sweden, Spain and England from today, August 23rd, through September 10th. These will be JWB’s most-extensive international collaborations, to date.

Wakefield will be collaborating on a sour and a stout at All In Brewing in Göteborg, Sweden, a sour with Garage Beer Company in Barcelona, Spain, a sour with Magic Rock Brewing in Huddersfield, UK, a sour and a stout at Cloudwater Brew Co in Manchester, UK and a yet-to-be-determined style with Siren Craft Brew in Finchampstead, UK.

Johnathan Wakefield is widely known for his collaborations with breweries across the US, including Trillium Brewing Company in Boston, Other Half Brewing in Brooklyn and Abnormal Beer Company in San Diego.

“No other brewer in South Florida does the number of collaborations that Johnathan does, said brand director, Alex Gutierrez, “Each collaboration is the result of a friendship that Johnathan has made at craft beer events around the country. They not only provide great teaching and learning experiences, but help build a stronger sense of community with independent craft brewers around the world.”

The new European collaborations will only be available at the respective breweries in Europe, however each brewer will be coming to Miami to collaborate with JWB on a new round of beers, around the time of the WakeFest Invitational in February.
