A portion of the sale of every ‘Ale for ALS™’ beer goes towards funding research for ALS. Also known as Lou Gherig’s disease, ALS is a debilitating and fatal illness with no known cure. Coppertail Brewing Co. is one of only four brewers in Florida chosen to participate this summer.

Ales for ALS breweries raise money through sales of their unique, limited-edition Ales for ALS beers made from a blend of experimental hops donated by B.T. Loftus Ranches and YCH Hops of Yakima, Washington. Coppertail’s Brewmaster, Casey Hughes, was given the proprietary blend of six hops, and he and his team recently brewed the beer.

“We were glad to brew a beer for such a worthy cause. It’s a great way for our customers to donate money for ALS research while doing something they enjoy, drinking beer,” said Casey.  “So many people and their families have been impacted by this debilitating disease. We would be honored to have a small part in coming up with treatment programs for those who have been diagnosed with ALS.”

The beer will be available for a limited time in the taproom at Coppertail Brewing Co. in Tampa’s Ybor City and at select participating taprooms. Check the Coppertail Facebook page for more information.
