We paid a visit to LauderAle, Broward County's newest brewery, a few days after Kyle Jones and Joey Farrell opened their doors. The brewery is located in a central Broward warehouse, off the beaten path in the shadows of FPL's Port Everglades power plant.

The tasting room has an industrial feel to it, sitting in the middle of the warehouse. This allows visitors to get a firsthand look at how the beer that they are drinking was made as the one-barrel system sits right behind the bar.

lauderale-handlesWe got a chance to talk about the operation with Kyle and he explained how they are currently evaluating the various systems available to them and hope to get an order placed for a 30 barrel system in the not too distant future.

LauderAle’s embraced their Port Everglades neighborhood with the inclusion of a ships prop in their logo and by styling the tap handles after the iconic red & white smokestacks that are a local landmark. While we were there, there were four of their beers flowing from those taps, an IPA, a porter, a saison and a hefeweizen. Kyle said that in addition to those four, there will be a pilsner and a Russian Imperial Stout rounding out the core lineup.

The brewery is located at 3305 SE 14th Ave. in Fort Lauderdale.
