Alewife to open fall 2014
Alewife, a new craft beer establishment featuring retail craft beer sales, a tasting bar, and craft beer focused classes, is set to open this fall in Riverside’s Five Points. Owners Kelly Pickard and Jamie Burket have signed a lease to move into 1035 Park Street, the former site of Riverside Liquors.

Sam Adams Octoberfest, the number one selling seasonal beer of all-time has joined forces with powerhouse event organizers, Tony Albelo of Social House Events and Javi Zayas of Zevents to host the fifth annual Samuel Adams Octoberfest.
Recently I asked outloud if anyone was interested in doing a guest post (offer still stands btw) and Chris at FloridabeerBlog gave it a seconds thought and quickly volunteered. I was invited to a recent event for the launch of Guinness’ new Blonde American Lager but unfortunately I was out of town and was unable to attend. Fortunately a few unlabeled bottles showed up at my front door a few days after the event so that I could still get a chance to try it.
On Friday October 10th at 6pm C&I Studios in Ft. Lauderdale will host “Roast for Reach: An Evening of Comedy, Tacos, and Craft Beer” a fundraiser to benefit REACH a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization that aids in the raising of funds and awareness for organizations that are in the trenches making change on a global scale.
The Sarasota-based craft brewery JDub’s Brewing has announced plans to distribute their brews to Brevard, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, and Volusia counties beginning in mid-September. A handful of events in the Orlando area will be held to celebrate the launch the week of September 15, including the official launch at the World of Beer, Dr. Phillips location.

I am one of those crazy people that really doesn’t like the pumpkin hype that occurs each and every fall. I don’t do Starbucks Pumpkin Lattes. I don’t run out and get my fill of pumpkin spice donuts and I certainly don’t hoard a plethora of pumpkin flavored beer. I do however, look forward to Weyerbacher’s Imperial Pumpkin Ale coming out each year.
